The Gold Rush Cycling Club held its second annual Lhtako Dene Mountain Bike Festival from Aug. 23 to Aug. 25.
Participants engaged in different events like the “Jump Jam” which saw people going on the new jumps behind the Arts and Recreation Centre and performing tricks while reaching heights.
During the jumps, judges held up score cards ranking each participant’s run. The crowd also let cheers out for the participants who were exceptionally fun to watch.
The pump track course saw people riding along the the pump tracks, using their bodies and not pedals to build momentum and race through the track.
The enduro saw participants going up, and then down, the trail at Wonderland Bike Trails near Dragon Lake. Finally, the downhill event was held Sunday at the trails behind the Arts and Recreation Centre.
The event had participants participate in what Gold Rush Cycling Club president John Courtenay called it an event that feels like a professional, competitive festival without the pressure associated with that.
