Sarah Swallow, a 36-year-old native of Tucson, Arizona, has transformed her passion for cycling into a flourishing career as a professional adventure cyclist. With nearly two decades of experience in the saddle, Swallow has become renowned for her adventurous spirit and dedication to the sport.
Her journey into cycling began at the age of 18, following her graduation from high school. Encouraged by her father, a former marathon runner who had turned to cycling to alleviate knee issues, Swallow embarked on her first road bike ride. Instantly captivated by the sport’s low-impact nature and the freedom it offered, she quickly embraced cycling as a fundamental aspect of her life.
“I use the bicycle as a tool for my well-being, sense of freedom, and inspiration, as well as for connecting with my community, other cultures, and natural landscapes around the world,” Swallow explains.
From her humble beginnings in southwest Ohio, Swallow’s cycling journey unfolded rapidly. Starting with sprint triathlons, she soon set her sights on more ambitious challenges, including century rides. Her thirst for exploration led her to delve into various disciplines within cycling, from mountain biking to cyclocross. Eventually, she found her true passion in gravel riding and bikepacking, where her adventurous spirit found its perfect match.
Today, Swallow stands as a testament to the transformative power of cycling.
