The Keswick Mountain Festival (KMF) is back after a hiatus last year, ready to welcome thousands of outdoor enthusiasts to Cumbria from May 17-19. This annual jamboree, renowned for its blend of sporting events, outdoor activities, live entertainment, and family-friendly fun, will take place against the stunning backdrop of Derwentwater and the picturesque Lakeland falls.
KMF 2024 promises an exciting lineup of events, including a new adventure race, revamped mountain run, open water swims, hikes, and cycle sportive routes, catering to adventurers of all levels.
The heart of the festival is the Festival Village, nestled in the beautiful surroundings of the National Trust’s Crow Park. Throughout the three-day event, the Village will buzz with exhibitors, festival partners, and engaging family activities. The Village will also feature two main entertainment areas—the Big Top and Band Stand—hosting local musicians.
Accessibility is a priority at KMF, with facilities like Mobiloo toilets and designated parking for disabled drivers ensuring that everyone can enjoy the festivities.
Entry to the Festival Village is free, but festival wristbands are required for specific activities.
The festival kicks off on Friday, May 17, with highlights including the North Face & Ellis Brigham Skiddaw Mountain Run and Tent Talks featuring outdoor personalities like James Forrest, Alastair Humphreys, David Millar, and Louise Minchin.
Saturday, May 18, will feature the North Face & Ellis Brigham Keswick 3 Peaks Challenge, Aquasphere Keswick Conqueror, and Aquasphere Derwent Isle 1.5km Swim. Inspirational talks from champions like Chrissie Wellington and Mel Nicholls will also take place.
On Sunday, May 19, participants can join the Adidas Terrex 50k Trail Ultra Marathon and Back O’Skiddaw 100km Cycle, alongside Tent Talks from Sean Conway, Cameron McNeish, and Alan Hinkes. Live music will entertain visitors throughout all three days.
Ticket options for KMF 2024 cater to individuals, families, day visitors, and weekend stayers, with an option to contribute to the Fix the Fells initiative with every ticket purchase.
