Kaden Groves Aims for Victory with Canyon Aeroad CFR

by Alice

Australian cyclist Kaden Groves, riding for Alpecin-Deceuninck, is striving to break his 2024 victory drought and recapture the form that propelled him to success in 2023, including standout wins at the Giro d’Italia and the Vuelta a España, all achieved aboard the Canyon Aeroad CFR.

Groves, who debuted his season at the UAE Tour earlier this year, remains committed to the Canyon Aeroad CFR bike, a machine that has proven itself in the WorldTour peloton. The bike’s striking new design features a refreshed shade of purple, enhancing its aesthetic appeal with a glossy finish that shimmers when viewed from different angles.

Despite its eye-catching appearance, the true strength of the Canyon Aeroad CFR lies in its performance. This season alone, the bike has secured victories in three of the four Monuments, demonstrating its pedigree in elite cycling. Notably, riders like Jasper Philipsen and Mathieu van der Poel have tasted success at prestigious races such as Milan-San Remo, the Tour of Flanders, and Paris-Roubaix aboard the Aeroad CFR.

Groves’ custom setup for the UAE Tour involved a 54/40t Shimano Dura-Ace chainset paired with an 11-34t cassette—similar to the configuration he used during his triumphant 2023 Vuelta a España campaign. This gearing setup, complemented by 172.5mm cranks and an integrated Shimano Dura-Ace power meter, provides a versatile and effective balance for competitive racing.

The bike rolls on 28mm-wide Vittoria Corsa Pro TLR tires, a popular choice in the pro peloton, mounted on Shimano’s Dura-Ace C60 wheels, known for their aerodynamic performance. While not the lightest option available, these wheels strike a balance between aerodynamics and weight, ideal for high-speed racing.

Canyon’s in-house components further enhance the Aeroad CFR’s capabilities. The CP0018 Aerocockpit, integrated into the bike’s design, offers versatility with adjustable width settings, while the Aero Seatpost ensures stability and comfort, supporting Groves’ choice of the Selle Italia Novus Pro Team saddle.

As Groves gears up for upcoming challenges, he relies on the Canyon Aeroad CFR as a trusted ally in pursuit of victories on the world stage.
