Caravan, Camping, and Boating Extravaganza Set to Enthrall Albury Visitors This May

by Alice

Albury, Australia – For those bitten by the wanderlust bug, mark your calendars for May, as Albury gears up to host one of the most extensive displays of caravans and campers in the region.

The highly anticipated Albury Wodonga Caravan Camping 4WD Fish and Boat Show promises to be a treat for outdoor enthusiasts, featuring over 150 exhibitor products, including 39 caravan brands. Spanning three acres at the Albury Showgrounds, this annual leisure show, now in its 27th year, is expected to draw crowds of around 8000, building upon the success of its 2023 edition.

Loretta Payne, the organizer from Rural Scene Promotions, expressed excitement about the upcoming event, highlighting the unprecedented scale of the caravan display. “There is an unbelievable number of brands represented,” she remarked, noting the show’s unique appeal in bringing top-quality offerings closer to regional audiences. “Normally people would have to go to Melbourne or Sydney to get that, and we don’t want them to go there; we want them to discover what’s available in Albury,” she added.

From state-of-the-art products to cutting-edge gadgets and gizmos, visitors can expect a comprehensive array of equipment tailored for outdoor adventures. Alongside the exhibits, the event will feature family entertainment, food stalls, and live cooking demonstrations.

Speaking on the evolving demographics of attendees, Loretta observed a significant shift over the years. While the traditional grey nomads remain a fixture, there has been a notable surge in younger generations and families embracing the caravan lifestyle. “They watched their parents work all their lives and then waited until they retired to go around Australia, only to end up getting sick or facing age-related barriers,” Loretta explained. “That’s a reason why the younger generation are doing it now, rather than waiting,” she added.

Emphasizing the event’s community-centric ethos, Loretta underscored its role as a vital fundraiser for local community groups. With tickets available at the gate each day, organizers aim to ensure accessibility while supporting various community initiatives.

This year, attendees can look forward to high-octane entertainment courtesy of Flair Action Sports, featuring freestyle stunt bike shows by Australian daredevil Jack Field and Rhianna Buchanan. Additionally, camp oven cooking demonstrations, the Australian Travelling Fish Show, and a generous door prize donated by Wangaratta Caravans and Marine are set to captivate visitors throughout the weekend.

The event is scheduled for May 3rd, 4th, and 5th, with gates open from 9 am to 5 pm on Friday and Saturday, and 9 am to 4 pm on Sunday. Tickets are priced at $16 for adults and $12 for pensioners per day.
