Authorities in Scotland have initiated a search effort for a walker reported missing in the Crianlarich mountains.
Ivan Meyer, aged 45, embarked on a journey from his residence in Edinburgh, traveling by train to the village of Crianlarich in Stirling on Monday.
According to Police Scotland, Meyer is suspected to have commenced his hike from the A82 route, south of the village, with intentions to ascend the mountains of An Caisteal and Beinn a’ Chroin.
Inspector David Marr, stationed at Stirling Police Station, voiced concerns over Meyer’s disappearance, stating, “Ivan has not made contact with friends or family for the past day, and this behavior is highly unusual for him. With each passing moment, the worry for his safety intensifies.”
Describing Meyer, authorities provided details indicating he stands approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, possesses a lean build, and sports dark greying hair with stubble.
Meyer is believed to have been outfitted in hiking attire, comprising black trousers, a black top, brown hiking boots, and a maroon and light-blue striped hat. Additionally, he is reported to have carried a light-grey backpack, a green one-man tent, and two purple hiking poles.
Efforts to locate Meyer are ongoing, with authorities urging anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to come forward promptly.
