Ultraviolette Expands to Europe With Electric Motorcycle Deal

by Alice

India’s electric motorcycle market is quickly growing—and now it’s going international. Ultraviolette, a startup based in Bengaluru, has officially signed a new deal to distribute its bikes in Europe. The agreement is with MotoMondo, a major distributor, and covers the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.

This is a big step forward for Ultraviolette and for India’s growing electric vehicle (EV) sector. While many global conversations about electric mobility have been led by companies from China and Europe, Indian firms are now entering the race. In particular, India’s electric two-wheeler market is gaining strong momentum. Local companies are now starting to look beyond India and expand to international markets.

Ultraviolette will launch its flagship model, the F77 Mach 2 Recon, in Europe. This electric motorcycle is built with a focus on power, technology, and design. It has a 10.3 kWh battery and can produce up to 40.5 horsepower (30.2 kW) with 100 Nm of torque. That puts it in the same performance category as many mid-range gasoline bikes. The F77 Mach 2 can reach a top speed of 155 kilometers per hour (96 mph). Under ideal city conditions, the company says it can go up to 323 kilometers (201 miles) on a single charge.

The F77 is not only about performance. It’s also packed with modern features. Riders will get a 5-inch TFT screen that supports smartphone connectivity. The bike includes dynamic riding modes, switchable regenerative braking, and over-the-air software updates. It comes with fully adjustable suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels, disc brakes on both ends, and dual-channel ABS for improved safety.

In terms of pricing, Ultraviolette is aiming to offer strong value. The company announced an introductory price of £8,499 (around $10,500 USD) for buyers who pre-order before June 30, 2025. After that date, the price will rise to £9,399 (about $11,600 USD). This puts the F77 Mach 2 Recon in a competitive spot when compared to other mid-level electric motorcycles available in Europe.

When compared to rivals like the Zero S and the LiveWire S2 Del Mar, the F77 offers a solid mix of features and affordability. The Zero S has a slightly better range in some versions, but it is also more expensive. The F77 offers similar performance to the LiveWire S2 Del Mar but comes at a much lower price, making it attractive for urban riders who want a modern, reliable, and eco-friendly machine.

Ultraviolette’s co-founder and CEO, Narayan Subramaniam, called the partnership with MotoMondo a key part of the company’s global plan. “MotoMondo’s experience with premium motorcycle brands gives us confidence that we can deliver great products and strong customer service in Europe,” he said.

MotoMondo’s Managing Director, Jan Ykema, also spoke positively about the deal. He said that the F77’s combination of electric power and high performance matches what many European riders are now looking for—especially in cities and suburbs where clean mobility is becoming a priority.

Ultraviolette is backed by some powerful investors, including TVS Motor Company, Qualcomm Ventures, and Zoho Corporation. The company designs and builds its motorcycles in India. Its long-term goal is to export its bikes to top global markets.

At this point, there is no confirmed date for a launch in the United States. However, the company’s move into Europe shows that Indian EV brands are now thinking big. With strong products and increasing support, they are ready to compete on the world stage.

Ultraviolette’s European expansion highlights the country’s growing role in the international electric vehicle market. With rising demand for lightweight and efficient EVs, India’s motorcycle makers are now ready to bring their innovation to a global audience.
