Cycling apparel brand MAAP has teamed up with QUOC to unveil a limited-edition version of the Gran Tourer XC shoe, marking the first collaboration between the two renowned brands. Designed for off-road cyclists, the shoe features a distinctive new colorway and several unique enhancements that set it apart from the standard model.
The MAAP x QUOC Gran Tourer XC is available in a new “fog” color, inspired by the Australian brand’s Alt_Road™ collection of off-road performance apparel. This color choice allows the shoes to pair seamlessly with the range, offering cyclists both style and functionality. Green and purple accents, along with a MAAP logo on the side, further emphasize the shoe’s aesthetic appeal.
Unlike typical collaborations that focus solely on visual changes, this limited-edition Gran Tourer XC incorporates thoughtful design adjustments to enhance both form and function. Notably, the shoe features a purple webbing pull tag on the heel and a “ribbed” TPU material on the tongue that molds to the foot for added comfort. Larger ventilation holes on the front provide improved airflow compared to the original design, making the shoe more practical for intense rides.
QUOC founder Quoc Pham shared his excitement about the collaboration, saying, “Collaborating with MAAP has been a gratifying and rewarding process. Much more than creating a new colorway—it was about innovating, iterating, and delivering something truly special that resonates with our shared audiences. The complementary design and values of both brands are reflected in every detail, pushing the boundaries of cycling.”
MAAP’s Chief Creative Officer, Misha Glisovic, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the collaboration’s blend of performance and aesthetics: “We always aim to blur the lines between performance and aesthetics, and collaborating with QUOC allows us to take that vision further. Together, we’ve created a collection that blends performance, comfort, and style. We’re looking forward to seeing this first installment of our collaboration put to the test.”
While the new color scheme and design elements distinguish the Gran Tourer XC from the original, it retains all the high-performance features cyclists expect. The shoe includes a carbon composite outsole, TPU tread, and replaceable TPU spikes for durability. The upper is made from an abrasion-resistant microfibre, paired with a rubber toe cap for added protection. For comfort, the shoe features padded heel cushioning, a gusseted tongue, and the Dual Dial closure system, which includes two BOA-style dials for on-the-fly adjustments. The shoe weighs 327 grams, making it a lightweight option for serious cyclists.
The MAAP x QUOC Gran Tourer XC is priced at £250 / €295 / $330 / $480 AUD.
