Tadej Pogačar, the world champion cyclist, is turning a dramatic moment from this year’s Strade Bianche into a lasting memory with the release of a limited edition t-shirt. Available now in his official online store, the shirt features an image of Pogačar emerging from a roadside ditch after a harrowing crash during the race.
Despite the crash, Pogačar went on to win the race, executing a daring solo attack with 20 kilometers to go and crossing the finish line bloodied but victorious. This victory marked his third Strade Bianche win and was one of the most thrilling of his career.
The t-shirt, designed to commemorate this memorable moment, displays a bruised and battered Pogačar climbing from the ditch, accompanied by a playful message: “It’s 8th March and you forgot to buy flowers.” This line not only refers to the date of the race, but also coincides with International Women’s Day. On the back of the shirt, a more celebratory image shows Pogačar triumphantly arriving in Siena’s Piazza del Campo, greeted by fans.
Priced at €40.98 (£34.45 / $44.66), the shirt’s proceeds will support the Tadej Pogačar Foundation, which the two-time Tour de France champion launched last year. The foundation aims to raise funds for those affected by natural disasters and children battling serious illnesses.
“I’ve been fortunate to earn a lot from cycling in recent years,” Pogačar remarked when launching the foundation. “When I was younger, I never imagined I would be so lucky. Honestly, I don’t feel entirely comfortable with this money, but I want to help those in need.”
This Strade Bianche t-shirt serves not only as a keepsake for fans but also as a way to support a cause close to Pogačar’s heart. Fans can purchase it now through the Tadej Pogačar Fan Shop.
