Vingegaard Debuts Custom Helmet at Paris-Nice

by Alice

Jonas Vingegaard, the two-time Tour de France champion, has been spotted wearing a distinctive red and white helmet at Paris-Nice, diverging from the yellow Giro helmets typically worn by his team. The custom helmet is part of a new partnership between Vingegaard’s team, Visma-Lease a Bike, and Bygma, a Danish building materials supplier. This collaboration was extended just before the start of Paris-Nice, marking the helmet’s debut and ensuring that Vingegaard will wear it throughout the 2025 season.

Vingegaard’s new headgear makes him the second rider on his team to sport a personalized helmet. Fellow team member Wout van Aert already wears a Red Bull-branded helmet as part of his personal sponsorship with the energy drink company.

“It’s a great honor to have Bygma as a personal and team partner,” Vingegaard said in a statement announcing the deal extension. “Their support means a lot to me, and I’m excited about this unique collaboration. The helmet represents more than just a design—it’s a symbol of our shared values and heritage.”

While the design of the helmet is customized for Vingegaard, it remains manufactured by Giro, with the same sponsor logos as the rest of the team’s helmets. The primary difference lies in the red and white color scheme, which marks the unique nature of the collaboration.

The partnership between Visma-Lease a Bike and Bygma is being hailed as a “fresh and collaborative approach to partnerships in professional cycling,” according to the team’s Chief Business Officer, Jasper Saeijs.

“We are incredibly proud that Bygma dares to take this step toward a customized helmet with us. It is a testament to Jonas’ roots and unique position in cycling. We are excited to see this unique partnership come to life on the road,” Saeijs said.

Bygma’s CEO, Michael Madsen, also expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Jonas embodies many of the values we cherish at Bygma—hard work, determination, and a commitment to excellence. His achievements inspire many, and we are excited to support him.”

In the race itself, Visma-Lease a Bike made a strong showing, claiming control of the overall classification at Paris-Nice after winning the team time trial on stage three. Matteo Jorgenson secured the leader’s yellow jersey, with Vingegaard sitting just six seconds behind as the race heads into stage four.
