The inaugural Cooly Kids Classic Keg Comp is underway, and surfers of all ages are riding high on the chance to win an all-expenses-paid surf trip to stunning destinations. The contest, which is based on video submissions, allows participants to showcase their best barrels for a shot at the grand prize.
Organized by Simon “Shagga” Saffigna, the competition has already received some incredible entries, with surfers from various age groups taking on the challenge. A curated video highlights the best submissions so far, showcasing waves ridden exclusively in January. The entry deadline is March 31, so there’s still time to get in on the action.
One of the most striking aspects of this competition is the wide age range among participants. From young surfers under 16 showing off their skills at renowned spots like Pipeline and Honolua Bay, to 46-year-old Nazaré legend Eric Rebiere still carving through hollow chambers with ease, it’s clear that age is no barrier to excellence.
Equally impressive are the contest prizes. The top surfers in both the Open Men’s and Women’s divisions will win a luxury stay at Latitude Zero Surf Resorts in Indonesia, valued at over $5,000. In addition, the best overall barrel submission will earn a separate $5,000 reward.
The competition includes several divisions: Groms (10 & under), Juniors (16 & under), Opens, and Masters (45 & over). Interested participants can view the entries and submit their own videos on Instagram at @coolykids.surf.
With the deadline fast approaching, it’s time to show off your best barrel and join the wave of excitement.
