Kurt Bogaerts, the long-time coach of Tom Pidcock, has left Ineos Grenadiers and is expected to join Swiss team Q36.5 Pro Cycling alongside the British rider.

Bogaerts, who had been with Ineos for four years, confirmed his departure on Wednesday. His profile was recently removed from the Ineos team website, and sources indicate that the Belgian coach is set to follow Pidcock to the Swiss teaam in the coming days.

The 47-year-old coach has been instrumental in Pidcock’s career, helping him transition into his new environment. Bogaerts, who also coached French mountain biking star Pauline Ferrand-Prévot during her time at Ineos, has a strong track record, having supported both Pidcock and Ferrand-Prévot in the build-up to their gold medals at the Tokyo Olympics.

Pidcock himself left Ineos earlier this year, reaching a mutual agreement to terminate his contract with the British WorldTour team. It is believed that Bogaerts’ move to Q36.5 was part of the arrangement.

Additionally, Xenia De Roose, an Ineos soigneur who frequently worked with Pidcock, is also expected to join Q36.5 to continue supporting the 25-year-old rider. De Roose’s staff profile was also removed from Ineos’ website on Wednesday, fueling speculation about her impending move.

Ineos Grenadiers did not respond to requests for comment regarding the departures of Bogaerts and De Roose.

An official announcement from Q36.5 regarding the arrival of Pidcock’s new support team is expected in the coming days.

In related news, Pidcock confirmed on Tuesday that he will not compete in cyclocross this winter, opting instead to focus on his debut road season with Q36.5. The Yorkshireman shared the news in a brief social media post, explaining that he needs time to adjust to his new team and surroundings. Pidcock indicated that he plans to return to cyclocross during the 2025/26 season.

“On Sunday, I watched my first cyclocross race of the season and realized I should probably officially mention that I will not race this year,” Pidcock wrote. “With a lot of change, I want to ensure I have time to settle into my new environment and get to know my team and teammates. My plan is to return to cyclocross next year.”
