Gorakhpur – Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Saturday the allocation of dedicated space for the Rowing Federation of India as part of a new water sports complex near Ramgarh Lake. This initiative aims to create a world-class rowing center, enhancing the state’s commitment to promoting water sports across its lakes.

During the closing ceremony of the 25th Sub Junior National Rowing Championship held at Ramgarh Lake, Adityanath emphasized the government’s dedication to expanding sports infrastructure and opportunities in Uttar Pradesh. He revealed that a new sports policy would provide government jobs to UP athletes who secure medals in the Olympics, Asian Games, and Commonwealth Games. For instance, Lalit Upadhyay, a medalist from the Tokyo Olympics, has been appointed as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) in the UP Police, showcasing the government’s commitment to supporting its athletes.
