The camping season at Lac La Ronge Provincial Park is coming to a close.
Following the Labour Day weekend, several campgrounds—Nut Point, Nemeiben Lake, Wadin Bay, Little Deer, MacKay Lake, and Churchill River—have shut down. The remaining campgrounds that will stay open until the end of the month are located at Missinipe and Devil Lake.
Park Manager Natasha Merriman explained, “The closure of the main campgrounds is largely due to weather conditions and the need to winterize water systems.” She added that these closures are necessary to prepare the water systems for freezing temperatures.
