Purgatory Resort has announced expanded hours for its lift-accessed mountain biking program this summer. Beginning this July, Purgatory will introduce Sunset Shred sessions exclusively on Fridays, running from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. These extended hours aim to provide mountain biking enthusiasts with more opportunities to explore Colorado’s premier terrain.
Located in the San Juan Mountains, Purgatory’s Bike Park offers a diverse array of trails suitable for riders of all skill levels, from novices to seasoned competitors. The park serves as a gateway to over 400 miles of high alpine single-track and backcountry routes.
Participants in the Sunset Shred sessions can enjoy three hours of lift-served mountain biking for a special rate of $25, equivalent to a half-day ticket typically priced at $39.
This initiative underscores Purgatory’s commitment to enriching the visitor experience and fostering greater accessibility to mountain biking. Notably, children aged 12 and under can benefit from complimentary unlimited mountain bike uplifts with the Power Kids pass. This unique season pass is the only one in North America offering unrestricted skiing and mountain bike uplifts for children, without the need for a purchase or any blackout dates.
Scheduled Sunset Shred Dates:
- Friday, July 5, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Friday, July 12, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Friday, July 19, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Friday, July 26, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Regular daily lift-served access will continue from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until August 18, followed by weekend operations from August 23 to October 6 (Fridays through Sundays).
