Brazil to Get Two Massive Wave Pools

by Alice

Brazil is set to welcome two of the biggest wave pools in the Southern Hemisphere, further cementing the country’s love affair with manmade surf tanks. While Brazil has long been a hotspot for wave pool enthusiasts, the arrival of these new facilities, slated for 2026, promises to elevate the country’s status as a global surf destination.

The wave pools, developed by Endless Surf—the same company behind the O2 SURFTOWN MUC in Germany—will feature state-of-the-art technology that has already earned rave reviews for its ocean-like waves and customization options. According to a press release, the new pools will be housed in a massive 48-caisson lagoon covering over 10,000 square meters, making them the largest of their kind in the Southern Hemisphere.

Endless Surf’s technology has garnered praise from surfers worldwide, with both beginners and professionals lauding its realistic wave experience. This innovative system was first unveiled earlier this year in Germany and has since been recognized for offering highly customizable surf experiences.

The first of the two new pools will be located at BSC Região dos Lagos, approximately two and a half hours from Rio de Janeiro. This facility will offer more than just top-tier waves. It will also provide a luxurious, resort-style experience with a boutique hotel, spa, fine dining, and access to peaceful natural surroundings.

The second location, BSC Costa Verde, will be situated in Mangaratiba, just 90 minutes from Rio. Nestled along Brazil’s stunning “Green Coast,” this surf club will be surrounded by lush rainforest and crystal-clear waters, creating a serene and picturesque backdrop for surfers.

“Surfing is more than just a sport—it’s a lifestyle that defines communities, and Brazil is a perfect example of that,” said Paul Chutter, President of Endless Surf. “Through our partnership with Brasil Surfe Clube, we’re bringing surf experiences that match the passion and energy of one of the world’s most surf-obsessed countries.”

With these new wave pools, Brazil is set to take its love for surfing to the next level, offering locals and tourists alike an unparalleled opportunity to enjoy world-class waves in luxurious settings.
