Ms. Shao from Beijing reported to Xinwang that she purchased a camping package on the WeChat mini-program of OkCamping Huabin last year. However, on the day of camping, due to excessive wind, the plan had to be cancelled. The customer service said that it could be postponed for one year. But when she contacted the customer service this year, she found that the mini-program project had been closed and there was no progress in getting a refund.
In May 2023, Ms. Shao spent 588 yuan on a camping package on the WeChat mini-program of OkCamping Huabin. After arriving at the camping site, she found that the wind was very strong, strong enough to overturn the tent. Several groups of tourists who arrived earlier had decided to leave because they couldn’t bear it. So after contacting the staff, Ms. Shao got a reply that tents could not be set up under the current conditions.
“We were still hoping for the best at that time. After all, it was not easy for good friends to get together. We waited in the car for more than an hour and found that the wind was still strong. After contacting the customer service, the other party promised that it could be used one year later, and then we left.” Ms. Shao told Xinwang that because one of the good friends was not in Beijing, it was not until early April this year, when spring began, that everyone decided to go again before the expiration date, which was May 20, 2024. But when contacting the customer service in advance to make a reservation, the customer service said that the camping would only open on May 1st. However, in May, Ms. Shao found that the mini-program showed that the store was closed and she couldn’t get in touch with the customer service.
“Until November, I saw that they posted a new advertisement for a different business on WeChat. After asking how to solve this matter, the finance said that the order had been completed and the camping income of last year had entered the company’s account. The refund required an application and waiting, and then there was no progress.” According to the information provided by Ms. Shao, Xinwang saw that the main body company of the OkCamping Huabin mini-program is Shanhu Village (Beijing) International Travel Agency Co., Ltd. Xinwang called the phone number reserved by this company on Qichacha many times, but no one answered.
Cao Yanlong, a lawyer from Beijing Jingshi (Qingdao) Law Firm, said: “It is still recommended that the parties find the payee at the time of payment and ask for a refund. The head office has no obligation to refund and can only assist the parties in getting a refund. If the payee cannot be contacted, they can ask the company for help and ask for the current contact information of the payee for negotiation.”
