Wavegarden, a European-based leader in artificial surf parks, has announced plans to build its fourth South American facility, marking a significant expansion of the wave pool revolution in the region. Set to open in late 2027, the new surf park will be located in Fazenda Vista Verde, a residential development in Araçoiaba da Serra, a city situated approximately 90 minutes west of São Paulo, Brazil.
The Wavegarden Cove, a cutting-edge wave pool technology developed by the company since its founding in San Sebastián, Spain, in 2005, will power the new facility. This system is capable of generating up to 1,000 waves per hour, offering 20 different wave types suitable for everyone from beginners to professional surfers. Known for its efficiency, the Cove system uses just 1 kWh of energy per wave, showcasing Wavegarden’s commitment to sustainability.
Fazenda Vista Verde aims to blend Brazil’s natural beauty with modern residential living. In its initial phase, the project will feature 160 residential lots, with plans for an additional 400 in later stages. Amenities will include swimming pools, a spa, a luxury hotel, restaurants, and a range of outdoor activities, such as hiking, biking, and equestrian trails.
“We are proud to be part of a new wave of real estate development in Brazil, where Wavegarden’s surfing lagoons have proven to be key to the success of residential projects,” said Fernando Odriozola, Wavegarden’s Chief Commercial Officer. “Our perfect waves, set against a palm-fringed beach, will offer a slice of ocean life to this unique development, which is situated three hours from the nearest natural beach.”
Wavegarden currently operates nine facilities worldwide, with more in the pipeline. Other Wavegarden locations in Brazil include Praia da Grama in Itupeva, Surfland Brasil in Garopaba, and Beyond The Club in São Paulo.
