Lethbridge has officially unveiled a new outdoor space dedicated to the city’s growing roller-sport community in the northeast section of Legacy Regional Park.
Once regarded as a niche activity, roller sports are gaining traction, prompting local enthusiasts to advocate for a dedicated facility. Their efforts have culminated in the opening of this rink-style area, which features painted lines, side and end boards, player benches, and penalty boxes.
The versatile space is designed to host a variety of sports, including street hockey, roller hockey, lacrosse, and roller derby. However, it is important to note that the facility will not be converted into an ice-skating rink during the winter months.
While the rink is available for public use, it is not permitted for bicycles or skateboards. Roller sport teams interested in reserving the space can do so through the city’s website or by calling 3-1-1.
